Freedom 22 has recently started the Earning Another Look program with retired Judge Michael Scopelitis to afford indigent Indiana inmates with excellent institutional records the opportunity to have their sentences reviewed, as well to have a comprehensive reentry plan to assist their successful return to life after prison.
One goal is for DefenseMap.com to be made available to these Indiana defendants to allow fuller, fairer, and more efficient review of their sentences.
Another goal is that this program proves itself in Indiana, it can be introduced in other jurisdictions as well. With about 2.3 million Americans serving time in prison, DefenseMap.com and the successful rollout of Earning Another Look could assist a true nationwide effort at better outcomes from our country’s criminal justice system.
